about

Kate Bush has a song called "Under the Ivy" which fascinated me when I was younger, it is the idea and concept inspiration behind writing "The Gallow Wall", a little romantic, a little gypsy, a little whimsy and the harmonies are simply gorgeous!

lyrics

Meet me down by the Gallow Wall
down the lane where the blossoms fall
I'll be waiting

Bring some bread and I'll bring some wine
and we'll lay back under the flowering vine
Don't keep me waiting

And, when you come
my heart will run
like the wind cross the field

Meet me down by the Gallow Wall
hand in hand we'll take a stroll
in the sun shine

when we get to the old mill weir
we'll find a place thats cool and clear
dive into the water

And, when you come
my heart will run
like the wind cross the field

Instrumental

Repeat First Verse and Chorus
