Old man Croft
is digging up his front lawn
making room for a new garden bed

retired nearly ten years a go

Talking on the telephone while the washing dries
my how the days roll by but the years just seem to fly

lives across the road with his new girlfriend Jenny
She likes to talk about everything but thats ok
While two doors up and
Katie's going crazy
'Cause the kids are acting up an the old mans out of work
She's dreaming of a better life, could have been a rich mans wife

ten i went awful quiet

they're taking the dog down to the park
laughing, holding hands, happy as can be
She's expecting they tell me

And a boy on a bike dragging his mate on a skateboard
grinning like fools as they're tearing up the side walk
